APC
Article Processing Charge (APC)
AnKa Publisher is committed to the sustainable, permanent, and open dissemination of high-quality scientific research. All journals published under AnKa Publisher operate under a Gold Open Access model. This ensures that all published articles are immediately, permanently, and freely accessible to researchers, institutions, students, and the general public worldwide without subscription fees or paywalls.
Open Access publishing is not cost-free. To sustain high-standard publishing infrastructure, professional editorial management, and permanent digital archiving, AnKa Publisher levies a single standardized Article Processing Charge (APC) of 500 USD for accepted manuscripts. AnKa Publisher does not charge any submission fees or evaluation fees. Authors only pay the APC after their paper has successfully passed rigorous double-blind peer review and received formal editorial acceptance.
Invited editorials, book reviews, invited commentaries, and manuscripts authored by active members of the Editorial Board are completely exempt from APC charges.
1. Editorial Independence & Academic Integrity Statement
AnKa Publisher strictly adheres to the core principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA).
- Separation of Functions: Payment of an APC does not influence editorial evaluation or guarantee publication. Editorial decision-making is strictly separate from the financial and payment processing departments.
- Blind Evaluation: Peer reviewers and Section Editors have no access to payment status, institutional waivers, or financial interactions regarding the author.
- Merit-Based Decision: Acceptance or rejection is determined solely by the scientific validity, originality, methodology, and ethical compliance of the manuscript.
2. Comprehensive Breakdown of Publication & Technical Expenses
The 500 USD APC directly funds the administrative, technical, and digital operations required to maintain world-class academic publishing standards. Below is a detailed breakdown of what the fee covers:
A. Editorial Secretariat & Administrative Management
Professional secretarial and administrative coordination throughout the publication lifecycle, including initial manuscript intake, checking compliance with author guidelines, managing reviewer communications, sending decision letters, proofreading oversight, and technical customer support for authors.
B. Technical Layout, Typography, PDF & Full-Text HTML Production
High-standard graphic design, professional typesetting, figure and table vector formatting, and conversion of accepted drafts into two publication formats:
- High-Resolution PDF: Custom-designed, print-ready, and interactive PDF versions for archiving and printing.
- Full-Text Web HTML/XML: Semantic structured text generation enabling mobile-responsive reading, online citation export, embedded figure viewing, and search engine crawling.
C. Server Infrastructure, Web Hosting & Domain Maintenance
Continuous operation of high-speed cloud web servers, domain name registration and renewal, SSL security certificates, database backup systems, DDoS protection, and regular technical software updates for the Journal Systems platform to online availability.
D. Plagiarism Screening & Similarity Verification
Every submission undergoes rigorous similarity screening using industry-leading software tools (such as iThenticate and Turnitin) to safeguard scientific integrity and prevent unethical publication practices.
E. DOI Assignment & Long-Term Digital Archiving
Registration of unique Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) via Crossref for every article and supplementary file. Articles are permanently preserved across global digital archiving networks (such as PKP PN, LOCKSS, and CLOCKSS) to prevent link rot and ensure accessibility in perpetuity.
F. Global Indexing & Metadata Dissemination
Formatting and depositing structured XML metadata into international indexing databases, academic search engines (Google Scholar, DOAJ, ROAD, etc.), and repository discovery networks to maximize citation impact and article visibility.

Official Invoices: Formal commercial invoices and official payment receipts are issued upon request for institutional, university, or grant reimbursement. Authors requiring an invoice must submit their institution’s full billing name, tax identification number, and official postal address during invoice request.
5. Detailed Waiver & Financial Discount Policy
AnKa Publisher is deeply committed to fostering global equity, diversity, and inclusivity in scientific publishing. We firmly believe that financial constraints or geographic location should never impede the publication of high-quality, peer-reviewed scientific research. To support researchers from developing and low-income nations, AnKa Publisher offers a structured and transparent APC Waiver and Discount Program based on internationally recognized socioeconomic frameworks.
A. Country-Based Eligibility Framework
Eligibility for full waivers or partial discounts is primarily determined by the country classification of the corresponding author’s primary institutional affiliation, as defined by the World Bank Country and Lending Groups and the Research4Life Eligibility Criteria.
1. Group A Countries / Low-Income Economies (100% Full APC Waiver)
Corresponding authors affiliated with institutions located in countries classified as Low-Income Economies by the World Bank or Group A by Research4Life automatically qualify for a 100% Full Waiver (0 USD APC).
Eligible Countries & Territories Include (among others):
Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Togo, Uganda, Republic of Yemen, Zambia, and other Research4Life Group A designated nations.
2. Group B Countries / Lower-Middle-Income Economies (Up to 50% Partial Discount)
Corresponding authors affiliated with institutions located in countries classified as Lower-Middle-Income Economies by the World Bank or Group B by Research4Life are eligible to receive a 50% Partial Discount (reducing the APC from 500 USD to 250 USD).
Eligible Countries & Territories Include (among others):
Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bolivia, Cambodia, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, El Salvador, Eswatini, Ghana, Haiti, Honduras, India, Kenya, Kiribati, Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Lebanon, Mauritania, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Senegal, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, and other Research4Life Group B designated nations.
B. Discretionary Hardship & Early-Career Researcher Waivers
AnKa Publisher recognizes that researchers from middle- or high-income economies may also face genuine financial hardship. Discretionary partial or full waivers may be granted on a case-by-case basis under the following circumstances:
- Unfunded Research & ECRs: Early-Career Researchers (ECRs), PhD candidates, or unfunded independent scholars who receive no institutional funding, research grants, or departmental publishing support.
- Crisis & Conflict Zones: Authors affected by active military conflict, political instability, severe economic inflation, or major natural disasters.
C. Mandatory Application Procedure & Timing
To ensure fair administrative handling and prevent processing delays, all waiver and discount applications must strictly adhere to the following protocol:
- Initial Submission Requirement: Waiver or discount requests MUST be submitted during the initial manuscript submission phase through the online submission portal or via a formal note/letter to the Editor-in-Chief.
- Strict Deadline Rule: Requests submitted post-acceptance, during typesetting, or after the publication invoice has been issued will be automatically rejected.
- Required Documentation: Applicants must provide:
- Institutional email address associated with an eligible university or research facility.
- A formal signed request letter explaining the lack of research funding or institutional grant support.
- Proof of current academic status (for PhD candidates and post-doctoral researchers).
D. Complete Editorial Separation & Anti-Bias Guarantee
In accordance with COPE and DOAJ ethics guidelines, all waiver applications are handled exclusively by the AnKa Publisher Financial & Administrative Office. Section Editors, Editorial Board Members, and Peer Reviewers have no knowledge of or access to waiver requests. A request for a financial waiver will never influence the peer-review process, evaluation speed, or editorial decision regarding manuscript acceptance.
6. Comprehensive Refund Policy
Post-Acceptance & Production Start: Once an article is formally accepted and the APC payment is completed, the fee is non-refundable. This is because technical typesetting, HTML conversion, secretarial workflows, and administrative setup begin immediately upon payment confirmation.
Article Retraction / Ethical Violations: If an article is retracted post-publication due to proven scientific misconduct, plagiarism, image manipulation, copyright infringement, or author dishonesty, no refund of the APC will be issued under any circumstances.
7. Article Withdrawal Policy & Guidelines
Unilateral withdrawal of a manuscript after it has entered the double-blind peer-review process or after formal acceptance causes a significant waste of editorial, secretarial, and peer-reviewer resources. Authors requesting manuscript withdrawal post-acceptance without an extraordinary scientific justification will not be eligible for future APC waivers across all AnKa Publisher journals.
