ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Epigenome Frontiers: Biology, Disease and Therapeutics is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing our understanding of the epigenome — the dynamic regulatory layer that shapes gene expression, cellular identity, development, aging, and disease. The journal provides a scholarly forum for research that spans the full continuum from fundamental chromatin biology to clinical translation, therapeutic development, and the emerging science of longevity and healthspan extension.

The epigenome sits at the interface of genetics and environment, integrating developmental cues, metabolic signals, stress responses, and lifestyle exposures into stable yet reversible patterns of gene regulation. Understanding how these patterns are established, maintained, disrupted, and potentially restored is one of the most compelling frontiers in modern biomedical science. Epigenome Frontiers exists to publish rigorous, interdisciplinary research that illuminates this frontier and accelerates its translation into clinical and societal benefit.

The journal welcomes contributions across the following thematic areas:

  • Letters to the Editor — constructive commentary on published work

The journal does not assume that epigenetic interventions necessarily represent unqualified progress.

Epigenetic reprogramming, rejuvenation strategies, and longevity interventions may produce new therapeutic capabilities and health benefits, but they may also produce unintended consequences, off-target effects, oncogenic risks, identity concerns, equity issues, or other unresolved challenges. Research addressing these possibilities is welcomed when supported by rigorous scientific reasoning or empirical evidence.

Epigenome Frontiers seeks to provide a rigorous scientific forum for investigating how the epigenome shapes health, disease, aging, and the future of human medicine.
