About the Journal
Epigenome Frontiers — Biology, Disease and Therapeutics is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to understanding the dynamic regulatory layer of the epigenome — the mechanisms that shape gene expression, cellular identity, development, aging, and disease. The journal publishes original and interdisciplinary research across a broad spectrum, from fundamental questions in chromatin biology to clinical application, the development of epigenetic therapeutics, and the frontiers of anti-aging strategies and longevity science. By bringing together fields such as molecular biology, epigenomics, developmental biology, gerontology, clinical epigenetics, pharmacology, bioinformatics, and computational biology, the journal aims to develop a holistic understanding of the role of the epigenome in health and disease.
Epigenome Frontiers takes particular interest in research examining how the epigenome is established, maintained, and altered across the lifespan; how epigenetic dysregulation contributes to disease and aging; and how epigenome-targeted interventions may prevent, treat, or reverse pathological states and functional decline. The journal recognizes that epigenetic interventions do not necessarily represent unqualified progress; reprogramming, rejuvenation, and longevity strategies may offer new therapeutic possibilities, but they may also give rise to unforeseen consequences, off-target effects, oncogenic risks, and ethical concerns. Epigenome Frontiers therefore welcomes studies that explore the future of the epigenome, supported by scientific rigor and evidence-based reasoning.
